On January 10, the Indian Cabinet formalized its commitment to cooperation in science and technology with Canada.
Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canada that will advance R&D with academic institutions in Canada and India.
The MoU supports IC-IMPACTS as the organization to promote India-Canada multidisciplinary research partnerships.
A boon to bilateral research partnerships, the MoU supports projects aimed at social transformation through research collaborations in areas such as safe and sustainable infrastructure and water management.
Among other goals, the MoU seeks to create and strengthen connections between research organizations, academic institutions, scientists, and specialists in India and Canada.
For details, see the Government of India’s January 10, 2018, press release announcing the approval of the MoU.
