IC-IMPACTS travelled to India in early February 2020 to meet with leaders of prominent government and academic organizations.

Dr. Nemy Banthia, CEO & Scientific Director of IC-IMPACTS and Mr. Barj Dhahan, Chair of the Board of Directors of IC-IMPACTS first met with Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary, Dr. A.K. Rawat, and Dr. Sangita Kasture of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The meeting focused on past and present collaboration, as well as shared goals of fast-tracking commercialization of technologies and deploying demonstration projects to communities in need.

Dr. Banthia then visited the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) campus in Nagpur, India, where he met with Director Padole, Dr. Peshwe & Mr. Acharya for an excellent discussion on future research collaboration. Mr. Dhahan also met with Dr. Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean of Academic Affairs & Student Welfare at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab, to discuss bilateral Canada-India research and student mobilization. IC-IMPACTS also met with the Department of Science & Technology and Lovely Professional University on this trip to India.

The IC-IMPACTS team looks forward to new and continued collaborations with our partners in India, and continuing to facilitate Canada-India research.
