IC-IMPACTS Research Project:
Carbon neutrality through combined CO2 capture and novel H2 technology with production of non-conventional fuels for smart cities
Tapan Jyoti Gogoi is a final year PhD student under the supervision of Professor Subrata Borgohain Gogoi in Department of Petroleum Technology at Dibrugarh University, Assam, India. Currently he is working as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the Department of Science and Technology (DST) within the Ministry of Science and Technology, India sponsored IC-IMPACTS Project under Professor Subrata Borgohain Gogoi, Indian Principal Investigator, Department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University and Professor Ibrahim Dincer, University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Canada.
Previously he was engaged as a Project Research Fellow in the DST sponsored Indo–Tunisia project entitled, “Characterization of Oil field water to mitigate a major environmental hazard with recovery of usable water” from 2/1/2019 to 16/11/2020 and Project Technical Assistant in the University Grants Commission (UGC) sponsored Indo-US 21st century Knowledge Initiative Programme entitled, “Foam – Assisted CO2 Flooding for the Depleted Reservoir of Upper Assam Basin and the candidate Reservoir in Louisiana” from 6/8/2016 to 31/12/2018.
He is also a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Dibrugarh University Student Chapter, Petrotech Student Chapter of Dibrugarh University and Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) Student Chapter of Dibrugarh University. His research interests are multidisciplinary in the areas of the Environmental Technology in Petroleum industries, Petroleum Exploration & Production and Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals.
Tapan has also provided consultancy services under the guidance of Professor Subrata Borgohain Gogoi to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), AOD Digboi Refinery, Digboi, North East Frontier Railway (NFR), Bogibeel bridge project Dibrugarh and Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Lapetkatta. He also enjoys teaching high school students, reading books and playing Football, Cricket, Carom, Badminton and Table Tennis during his free time.
