Abhishek Dutta is a third-year Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Jongho Lee in Civil Engineering (ESE group) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Prior to his time at UBC, he completed his M.Sc degree from Yale University, in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. Abhishek is carrying out his research in the water-energy nexus, exploring the applicability of membrane systems for energy and resource harvesting from wastewater. He has been involved with the BCWWA student chapter since 2017, acting as the president for the student body in 2018-19, as well as chair of the WEST conference. He is a recipient of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (2018), Mitacs Globalink Scholarship, and has been an UNLEASH global talent (2019).
