Dr. Stephanie Yanow

Dr. Yanow is a Professor in the School of Public Health, Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Yanow’s research is focused on different aspects of malaria from basic pathogenesis to translational development of diagnostics and vaccines. Her lab is engaged in a multidisciplinary collaboration to transfer molecular diagnostic tests for malaria to a platform to be used at the point-of-care in limited-resource areas, as well as studying the interactions between malaria parasites of different species and the host immune response, particularly during infection in pregnancy.
