“Canada-India Workshop Adds New Chapter to Relationship”

Highlights from the opening session of the IC-IMPACTS Canada-India Workshop to Build Health Communities is featured in an article appearing Friday, February 22, 2013 in the City of Nagpur’s newspaper, The Hitavada.

Excerpts from the article:

“Ivy Lerner Frank, First Secretary and Trade Commissioner, Canadian High Commission in India, said that Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper had agreed on the imperative need to forge a forward looking relationship by deepening the bilateral engagement at a strategic level and better leveraging significant complementarity existing between the two countries in key areas of mutual interest.”

Dr. S. R. Wate, Director of National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) pointed out that 70 per cent water was being lost. ‘We can recycle this unused water and bring down our water bills. The problem is not of availability but its is of proper management,’ he said and added that workshop would definitely take steps in that direction.”
