IC-IMPACTS Research Project: Carbon neutrality through combined CO2 capture and novel H2 technology with production of non-conventional fuels for smart cities.
Pranab Boral is a second year PhD student under the supervision of Professor Subrata Borgohain Gogoi in Department of Petroleum Technology at Dibrugarh University, Assam, India. He completed his masters (M.Sc.) in Applied Geology and Geoinformatics from Central University of Karnataka (2018), Gulbarga, India. Earlier completed his graduation (B.Sc.) with honours in Applied Geology from St. Anthony’s College (2016), Shillong, India.
Currently he is working on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) methods for the Upper Assam Basin. His work includes characterisation of crude oil and reservoir rock properties. This includes Distillation, UV-Spectrophotometer and FTIR studies for crude oil and XRD, XRF and SEM analyses for reservoir rock. He is also indulge in Modelling and Simulation of Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR). Fluid flow through porous media and Alkaline Surfactant Polymer flooding methods are his ongoing research work.
In relation to IC-IMPACTS Research Project, he is currently working on separation of carbon dioxide (CO2) from flue gas which is available from Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Lapetkatta.
Publication includes 5 research papers and has also attended and presented papers in both National and International conferences.
