IC-IMPACTS hosted a roundtable with His Excellency High Commissioner Bisaria to strengthen connections and promote exchange opportunities between Canadian and Indian stakeholders

Vancouver, BC — IC-IMPACTS (the India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnerships to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability) had the pleasure of hosting His Excellency Ajay Bisaria, High Commissioner of India to Canada and Mr. Manish, Consul General of India in Vancouver, for a program which was mainly organized by IC-IMPACTS Student Engagement Committee.
IC-IMPACTS HQPs provided a detailed tour of some of the state of the art laboratories at The University of British Columbia, showcasing IC-IMPACTS research projects. HQPs had the opportunity to present their work on self-healing concrete, clean water technologies, and 3D printing of concrete structures.
The lab tour was followed by student presentations and a roundtable discussion with IC-IMPACTS graduate students, industry partners, and other stakeholders. Promoting student mobility programs, creating networking opportunities amongst researchers, strengthening research exchange opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows where amongst the topics discussed.
IC-IMPACTS is a great example of a strategic international partnership, which with a number of innovative research projects is harnessing technology and translating research into business.
