From December 11 to 13, IIT Roorkee successfully organised the Second CARRS Conference,
bringing together leading experts and stakeholders to discuss advancements in resilient and
sustainable infrastructure systems.
Dr. Banthia, CEO and Scientific Director of IC-IMPACTS and Killam Professor at the University
of British Columbia, was invited as the Guest of Honour for the conference.
Dr. Banthia also delivered a Plenary Lecture on “Infrastructure Management and
Decarbonization using Sensors and Cyber-Physical Networks.” His talk was highly informative
and provided valuable insights into the role of advanced sensing technologies and cyber-
physical systems in enabling efficient infrastructure management while supporting
decarbonization goals.
The conference served as an important platform for knowledge exchange and highlighted
emerging approaches toward building sustainable and resilient infrastructure for the future.
