IC-IMPACTS would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Canada-India Education Society (CIES), Richmond, for its generous financial contributions and support of the Centre.

CIES is a not-for-profit organization led by Mr. Barj S Dhahan, a community builder and entrepreneur currently serving as IC-IMPACTS’ Chairman of the Board. Co-founded in 1991 by Barj Dhahan, his late father Mr. Budh Singh Dhahan and family and friends, CIES has been a pioneer in supporting education, health care, and job creation in its mission to connect people and transform communities in Canada and India.

CIES’ notable achievements include founding the Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust in Dhahan-Kaleran, Punjab; facilitating one of the first Canada-India collaborations in nursing education between the University of British Columbia School of Nursing and Guru Nanak College of Nursing, Punjab; and aiding village infrastructure projects in conjunction with the Babbar Karam Singh Memorial Trust in Daulatpur and Dhahan villages, India.

As an organization dedicated to community engagement and development for almost three decades, CIES has been immensely supportive of IC-IMPACTS’ mission and vision. With their contribution, IC-IMPACTS continues its work in funding research to produce deployable technologies, striving towards our shared goal of community transformation in Canada and India.
